New Zealand company shows way forward
…Normally, I am dead against companies that spend money on packaging, rather than the
…product. But Living Nature’s way of packing their cleanser and toner is unique,
…environmentally-friendly, and deserves a mention of its own.
T
The company comes from New Zealand, where it sounds like they are much more ecologically-friendly than we are. Anyway, when I came across their products, I noticed the cleanser and toner were in semi-circular bottles, which fit together.
I couldn’t work out why you had to turn the bottle upside down to get the cleanser, until I watched their promotional video; one of their staff explains that the products are accessed from the bottom, so as you turn the bottles upside down, no air can get in to spoil the contents. Clever!
Another clever idea is all the bottle are made from re-cyclable plastic.
So intrigued, I asked their representative, Serena Warwick, round to discuss the company’s products, and found their ecological principles go through the whole range for ‘Truly Natural Skincare’.
As one of the world’s first companies to produce skincare without the use of synthetic preservatives, Living Nature is, quite simply, passionate about nature. ” Our products work to naturally protect, nurture and enhance the skin without any adverse chemical side effects”.
The home territory Gondwana, in New Zealand, has been geographically isolated for over 80 million years, in which time a unique flora has evolved. Over 80% of New Zealand’s plants are found nowhere else in the world. It is these rare plants that form the basis of the exceptional Living Nature skincare, bodycare care and cosmetic collections. Plus, of course, they use the almost-miraculous Manuka Honey.
Their Research and Development team work with six external scientific organisations to identify, extract and purify plant compounds, but the products are sent to Abich Laboratories, in Italy, who have an international reputation for product testing. These kiwis are really thorough: product safety has been assessed to EU guidelines and Living Nature is accredited by the world’s leading independent auditor of natural cosmetics, Germany’s BDIH.
Believing passionately in their products, they make the following promises to customers
* No Synthetic Preservatives
* No ingredients we consider potentially harmful
* No Mineral Oils
* No Irradated Ingredients
* No Herbicide or Pesticide Residues
* No Genetically Modified Ingredients
* No Animal Ingredients
* No Animal Testing
* Always Use High Quantities of Bioactive Ingredients
* Only Use Recyclable, Reusable, Reduced Packaging
I will be reporting on more of their products, as I try them out – this will be fun!
